SUMMARY:Earth Day Vegan Cooking Class
DESCRIPTION:Boston Vegetarian Society is pleased to collaborate with Earth Day Boston 2022 for a Vegan Cooking Class!\nOne of the most impactful things an individual can do to protect this planet and avert the climate crisis is to replace animal foods with plant foods in the diet. In fact, experts say it is essential to do so.\nSo let’s make it delicious and nutritious to the max!\nJoin us on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, 5:30-6:15 PM\nFree * Virtual * Via Zoom * All Welcome\nInstruction will be 30 minutes with opportunity to ask questions, followed by 15 minutes of Open Mic for live Q & A with our chefs.\nDo this quick sign-up and we will email you the Zoom link and recipes before the class.\nSpeakers\nWe are delighted to work with Tomé & Valery Andrade, owners of Cabo Vegan, the catering service preparing to open Cabo Vegan Restaurant & Market at 20 Main St. in Brockton, MA.\n“Our food is Grown, Not Born.”\nTomé and Valery were born in Cape Verde, officially known as Cabo Verde, off the coast of West Africa. Inspired by a will to help animals, the planet, and the good health of the community, they create delicious vegan food with Portuguese and African influences. They refine recipes though extensive taste testing and experimentation to replace animal ingredients with natural plant ingredients.\nThey will teach a traditional Cape Verdean dish, Bacalhau De Nata (Cod Fish with Cream) which they transform to 100% plant-based through the use of jackfruit, hearts of palm, and banana blossom (all readily available in the marketplace) and their cashew creme sauce.\n
