In-Person Introduction to Forest Bathing at the Boston Public Garden
DATE: Saturday April 22nd
TIME: There are three sessions to choose from. Each session lasts 90 minutes.
  1. Early-morning 8-9:30 am
  2. Late-morning 10-11:30 am
  3. Afternoon 1-2:30 pm

Guided forest bathing is a gentle and relaxing practice that restores our connection with ourselves and our relationship to place. Take time out for yourself, for this very special Earth Day opportunity to connect with others and experience forest bathing together in a group led by certified forest therapy guide and award-winning author, Nadine Mazzola. Awaken the joy and awe of nature and within. This experience will consist of a series of gentle activities (invitations) that allow participants to use their 5-senses to engage with nature and foster relationships. This is wellness naturally: More Than a Walk in the Woods. It has the health benefits of mindfulness and supports the immune system and variable heart rate. This will not be a physically-demanding experience. Activities are low-impact and slow-paced and cover short distances.

WHERE: Meet at the Swan Boat Landing, Boston Public Garden (Nadine will be there to meet you)
COST: FREE There is no fee to attend this event.  
WHAT TO BRING: Bring water,an extra layer in case it is cool, and anything else you want to be comfortable.
RESTROOMS: The closest public restroom is located in the Boston Common. After you enter the main Charles Street gate, turn left and head towards Beacon Street. There are also rest rooms at the Frog Pond refreshment area and at the Visitor Information Center near Tremont Street.
TRANSPORTATION & PARKING: The MBTA Green Line Arlington Station is the closest train stop to the Boston Public Garden. From this stop on the corner of Arlington and Boylston Streets, walk across the street and into the Public Garden. It is about a four minute walk to the Swan Boats dock.The Boston Common Garage on Charles Street is the closest parking garage. Parking meters with 2-hour maximum are available on the surrounding streets. On Sundays, parking meters are free. Hotel and other parking garages are also in the area.

About Nadine Mazzola, Certified Forest Therapy Guide, Award-Winning Author

Nadine Mazzola (she/her) is author of the multi award-winning book “Forest Bathing with Your Dog”. The founder of New England Nature and ForestTherapy Consulting (nenft.com), she has appeared on PBS, ABC, The Boston Globe and Boston Magazine and is a senior educator and advisor for the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Nadine has worked with leading conservation and educational and health organizations, speaking on forest bathing and conducting workshops. She teaches a variety of in-person and online training programs including forest therapy guide training certification, expressive arts, somatics, business skills for guides and professional development.
